Thrifty Thursday…

Being a Queen of thrifting… I am sad to say I haven't been doing that well at the Goodwills lately. :(
I think donations are down… which leads them to mark the decent things they have UP to prices I refuse to pay. So really in the last few weeks I have only bought a few things.

Here they are:

A tiny buttocks basket for $0.50.

And a nice sized crate for $2.00

I really like what it says. I am not sure if I will leave it white. I think I will probably stain it with my trusty Olde English Stain. I don’t do white in my house. In fact I intentionally avoid it. So this will probably get primmed up.

I also found a wood spoon for $0.50. It was shellacked… so Mr. Primcat Sanded it for me and I’m going to coffee stain it.

This speckled blue bowl for $0.50.

0223011922

0223011922a

A Pfaltzgraff Yorktown Punched Tin sconce for $0.99.

0223011916a

And a beautiful 10” wood plate with carved pineapple for $0.59.

That’s it for the TS finds.

Until next time…

Carmen, You've been doing better than I. There is absolutely nothing in my GW. I ran in yesterday and came out very disappointed. ~Ann

Our GW's have been less then good lately. Carmen you found more then I did and I desperately need to find some spice bottles, pitchers & bowls and wood wares for my gatherings. Pickins are as low in my shop as they are at GW. I'm going to make a trip to the Ohio thrift off 161 & the GW on Moorse RD and pray they have some good finds. They usually have lots of Kitchen stuff I can use.

Times are tuff when the thrift stores are empty...

Have a great day!

I am going to start a campaign to get goodwill stores here in the UK!!

You have found some fantastic items, love the crate and I am with you on the "white" colour, I don't do white either, with Beth & Libby around the house and Ella our youngest weimaraner, white would be a total disaster for me! I would be re-decorating every other week!

Have a lovely day,
Karen

Love the finds Carmen! They just opened a Goodwill store here in Little Rock - gonna check it out this weeekend.
I don't like white either, unfortunately there is a lot of white in this house I'm trying to sell - working around it.

OOOOOhhhhh...I LOVE that punched tin sconce:D You found some wonderful stuff! I don't even stop in our local thrift shops any more, they don't have much of anything:( I think the workers go through and get all the good stuff out....maybe I should apply for a job there, LOL!!!!

Looks like you hit the mother load to me... oh I just love that little basket... I have a Amish handmade one and it my absolute favourite... love the crate and the sconce and the prices are so reasonable.

Goodwill priced themselves right out of business in my area... they started getting greedy and lost a ton of business, now they are all closed.

Enjoy your new treasures and thanks for sharing.

Hugs, Deb

Carmen, You did well! I love the pineapple plate! My hubby just informed me that they are building a new Goodwill right down the street from our house! We don't have any decent ones around here, I always have to travel quite a ways to the ones I go to.
Thanks for sharing.

They are building a new Goodwill 35 miles east of here and 1 - 22 miles west of here. I hope they have a ton of goodies. I will certainly donate and shop.
I love that tiny basket--perfect!
And the twin sconce--very nice.
I always think if I come home with 1 good thing, it was a good trip!
