~Fall on the porch~

Good Sunday morning all. It’s way to early to be up… but my tooth told me to get up at 5:30am… so I did. :(

Painting at Jamie's went great last night. we got everything painted and I think after I left they got their first coat of stain on too. Awesome. I can’t wait to see it finished. I know it’s going to be amazing!

Until them, here’s the Primcats porch. Finally. LOL!

I was wondering if I would ever get to it.

IMAG1631

Just look at all those pretty lines Mr. Primcat puts in the yard. He works hard on the yard and happily helps in the gardens too. I am very blessed to have such a helpful husband.

IMAG1635

Speaking of Mr. Primcat. What a silly man! He just can’t let me have a photo shoot without hamming it up and making sure he lands on the blog too. LOL!

IMAG1594

The porch!

Do you think I have enough pumpkins? I see empty places!!!! LMBO!

Beautiful mums. And a real pumpkin from our neighbors patch. All the others are fakes from the goodwill.

IMAG1601

Look what hubby found. We have hundreds of these at our house in our garden every year.I think we are a breeding ground. There are always at least one or two sticking to our screens.

IMAG1603

My Dragon fly from Myra. Love it!

IMAG1605

Mr. Primcat thought Mantis would like the mums.

What a great weekend!

Happy Sunday to all my blogging friends! I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend! I did! I have seriously had the best weekend I’ve had in such a long time.

Friday night one of my 3 childhood best friends (yes, I am blessed to have 3 childhood best friends in my life) came into town. Her name is Elizabeth and we have been besties since I was 7.

We have 27 years under our belts. She moved to Florida in 2000 but it didn’t change anything. We are still the best of friends. She came and spent the night with me and we had such fun.

IMAG0239
Saturday morning was so nice because she was still here. And it was nice to have coffee and laughs before she headed out. I miss her already. Hopefully we will meet again soon.

When she left I felt super motivated so I decided to go out into the beautiful day and get some much needed work done.

Last week my porch cabinet collapsed and made a heck of  a mess out there. The heat and humidity of this year just did it in. What to do… what to do?

Above -This is a really old pic… but you can see the cabinet that collapsed in this pic. Also note the porch rocker to the right of the porch in the garden.

Below – Last fall. Note the cabinet that collapsed hiding behind the grass and note the white iron table and chairs.

Ok… time for some major renovations! EVERYTHING off the porch!

Now what. WOW. The porch is dirty. Get out the power washer. Oh geeze… now the porch is white and the rest of the house is still dirty. Power wash the rest of the front of the house. Oh my gosh… my arms are Jello! lol!

Ok. Now. To DECORATE! My favorite part! What do I have? what do I have? Lots… And here is what I ended up with.

IMAG0254

Switcheroo! Moved the glider to the porch and the white iron set to the garden.

IMAG0256

Love this is the Garden. Stands out so much better. I added a cat birdhouse the chair. A bunch of clay pots to the table. And a carrier full of garden tools to the other chair.

IMAG0257

Pierre’ checks it out…

IMAG0266

And likes what she sees!

IMAG0269

Back to the porch! Tada!

IMAG0275

I repurposed the enamelware top to the cabinet that fell apart and set it atop the trunk. I added the copula with weathervane that I had picked up at a garage sale for 15 bucks years ago and started building off that. 3 old drawers stacked to the side. A large beam from an old barn that was down from our house … and last some accessories and 2 primcats. Of course. >^..^<

IMAG0272
IMAG0273

A rug and pillows… so cozy!

IMAG0276

Now the house is clean and the porch is decorated… but the pond is a mess! Time to clean it!

IMAG0278

IMAG0282
IMAG0283

The Clematis and lilacs really took off this year!

IMAG0285

IMAG0284

IMAG0287

See those little trees in the garden below. They were tiny little 3” trees when I planted them in spring. They have done great and we are planting them in the yard soon. There are 14!

IMAG0289

Hubbys 1972 Monte Carlo that his grandfather bought brand new. He inherited it when his grandfather passed way. He loves this car.

See all out baby trees!  And those boxwoods are new this year too. We removed a bunch of prickly barberries and replaced them with the boxwoods.OUCH!

IMAG0292

Our view off the front porch.

IMAG0293

And my clean pond.

IMAG0294
IMAG0295

Pierre’ offers up her belly as a sign that she approves of the new clean porch, pond and décor.

IMAG0303

So you would think after all that I would be completely done for the day… I did do all the by myself… but NOPE! I kept at it! That was just the first half of my best Saturday ever! I’ll be back to share more tomorrow!

Until next time…

Fall Decor part 3

Hello Prim Friends,

I hope everyone had a lovely fall weekend. It was beautiful again here in Ohio and we spent most of the weekend with the windows open enjoying the fresh air.

It was a very productive weekend around our house. We got a lot accomplished. Starting Friday night we began the daunting task of redecorating the the recently painted Living Room, Dining Room and Prim craft room. It was a big job but with the help of Mr. Primcat it all got done along with finishing up a lot of other projects. I’m pretty impressed with how much we got done and soon enough I will share pics of the redo’s but for now we have to finish up the fall decor pics.

Here we go starting on the porch…

Cornstalks, mums, a crow twig wreath, straw, pumpkins, a scarecrow, a Scare”crow”, and black cats make for a fun entryway,

Of course you know all my pumpkins are fake and all came from the Goodwill.

1010070256

I ended up changing this wreath out. I love it but you couldn’t see it from the road. Now there is a bright orange pip wreath up there with three big crows on it.

Inside the front door Ebby approves of the porch decor.

1010070209

Good job mom!

1010070210
