Forget it Friday!

I get a giggle out of making up names that match the weekdays on my blog. My newest... these are things I passed up this week at the thrift store! Things I looked at and said… Forget it! LOL!


This is a HUGE painted piece of work. $100.00. Below it hangs and 8x11 frame so you can see how big it is. It is actually really neat. more country than prim but it’s nice. Would look really cool in a stairwell somewhere. I think it is $100.00.

  

95 piece set of Pfaltzgraff Village. $79.00 Really nice set at a really great price. But I don’t have anywhere to put all that! Neither does my bestie who collects this pattern like I collect Folk Art.

 

The wine glasses in the set. Really wish these were separate… Tammy NEEDS these.



Another piece of Pfaltzgraff. This is Yorktown It was a small vase. $2.00. Cute and I have some Yorktown but eh… forget it.

 

Cutest little pitcher ever. $2.50 I think. More than it’s worth in my thrifty world so I walked away.

 

Tiny little 1.5 inch bunny. $1.50!!! Are they mad????? YES!!! Forget that!

 

This is was a cute little crockish type thing too. Only about 1.5 to 2 inches tall. But it was $1.50. No thanks.

I hit the jackpot again this week. I’m pleased!


Lets have a look at this weeks Goodwill treasures.





A beautiful bird. Love it. I paid more for this than I usually would. $3.99. But I really liked it and it will serve through Spring, Summer and Fall decorating.





A delish Banana Bread candle in a great prim container. $1.00 Can’t beat that!


 



A great little pewter Bowl. $.50. Going to the
pewter shelf in the dining room.








Even though I collect Pfaltzgraff Village… this is for my bestie, Tammy, who also collects it. She gets first dibs on all found Village.   $3.99





A beautiful perfect gathering basket. $4.00. Seriously annoyed at the price but I did it anyway. It’s so cute. Thinking tulips!










THE most adorable little yoyo flower pillow! So frickin cute!





And I found some great textiles this week!

A BEAUTIFUL quilted runner. Love this! It’s perfect!






Further proof that no matter where I move this penny rug it’s the chosen spot! The Primcats thank you Michelle. LOL!





Any way this great runner is hand stitched. Beautiful piece. $7.00. Again… they are becoming ridiculous with their prices but I like this!





Kitchen wares… two great metal sets of measuring cups. $.50 per set. DEAL!

The Pie Safe and Pfaltzgraff Village…

I know you have all been waiting patiently… here it is in all it’s pie safe glory!


I love love love it! ♥


Sorry the pics aren’t that great… my camera was dead so I used me cell phone. At least you can see it!


 

We painted it black on the outside, then  distressed it, then stained the whole piece with Dark Walnut.

If you can believe it, this was my first time ever staining a piece. I have finished a LOT of pieces but I have always used Old English scratch cover to do the darkening. If you don’t have this in your arsenal get some. It’s the bomb! So staining was a new experience for us. We did a pretty good job I think. The only part I’m not exactly pleased with is on the doors in the molding holding the pie tins on we weren't able to get all the stain out of the crevices and it dried shiny. Bummer. But I figure once the dust sticks to it you won’t even notice!!! LOL!




The only thing I would change about the safe is that I forgot to have him put in two rows of of plate holders in the shelves. :( Really bummed about that. I might call him and see if I bring it to him if he can router it in there.  




You can also see my collection of Pfaltzgraff Village now. I have collected for a very long time from Goodwills only and I didn’t realize I had so many great pieces because they were stuffed here and there. I really like that I can look at them now.


 
So there it is! For $200.00 I couldn’t be happier!!!!
I can’t wait to decorate it for Christmas!
