~ Thrifty Thursday ~

Hi Friends,
As promised… a new kind of Thrifty Thursday today.

My Thrift stores have been dryer than the desert lately in deals. It’s almost garage sale season and people are saving up for their sales and not donating as much which is leaving me without anything to share.

So in the spirit of still being thrifty… here is my Thrifty coupon haul from Walmart this week.

4 Cat treats - $0.38 ea.

4 Carefree panty liners – FREE ($0.24 Money maker!)

2 Reach dental flosses – FREE ($0.06 Money Maker!)

(Notice I had to remove the Aveeno soap because my coupon for it excluded the bars. Bummer!)

Here’s my receipt. Total $1.22 plus tax so $1.98. Yay!

Now that’s thrifty, right!

I love couponing. I’m a master at it… and you can be too! It’s easy. I find my deals for Walmarts free and cheap at this link

http://www.afullcup.com/forums/walmart/599506-april-free-cheap.html

That link is for April and it is updated as the month progresses. Each month a new thread is started and pinned to the top of the forum in the Walmart area.

They also cover tons of other stores too! Check out their front page on the left and see if your store is there!

I use them for Meijer, CVS and Walgreens too.

www.afullcup.com is one of my favorite sites for coupon matchups. Makes couponing quick and easy because someone else does the hard work for you! All you do is look at the matchups, see if you have the coupon and go buy it. Not much to think about!

Until next time…

Happy Labor day! and Yes! I’m still couponing!

Happy Labor day! Hope you all are having a great day off!  I'll be spending the day decorating here!

So far my three day weekend has been great! I spent Saturday shopping with Jamie! We had a blast. I can not even tell you!  Keep an eye out for posts about that soon!

Yesterday I took my 16 year old Niece Brooke driving for 6 hours. She is working towards her license and I am doing my Auntie part to help. She is as close to a child as I will ever come and I love her to bits. She did really good! I was so proud of her!

When i got home... Mr. Primcat... my amazing hubby had cleaned the house for me. How wonderful is that? He swept and mopped the whole thing. AND... he bought me flowers and a card because I had given up our plans to take Brooke driving. He said one good deed deserves another. How cool is that? Aren't they pretty?

I've had a lot of askers... yes, I’m still at it with my couponing.

This pic was from a few weeks ago. I got all this for under $50.00. And yeah… that included the laundry soap!

Woohoo! I love to coupon!

Was it you? I got asked to review a coupon site and I unfortunately accidently deleted the email! I had just got my smart phone and I didn’t realize that if I deleted an email on my phone that it also disappeared from my online account. If it was you please email me again! I would love to review your site!

Until next time…

Couponing... do you?

With the new show on TLC Extreme Couponing now airing , the coupon nuts have been exposed!

I am one of them!
*Mauahahahaha = evil laugh*

Ok, I'm not as bad and "into it" as they are but I am a coupon clipping maniac. I usually save 20% to 30 % off our weekly bill with couponing and that is with little effort. I just clip my Sunday coupons while watching Desperate Housewives on Sunday nights.

With this show, Extreme Couponing, coming out I realized I could really step it up and make a HUGE difference by looking up coupons online too. I printed a mound of coupons for THINGS WE USE already and today off I went to the store with my matchups.

Here's what happened at Meijer...

I filled this cart with $263.00 worth of groceries.

I had prepared VERY well for this trip. I didn't add up for my end price because I really wanted it to be a surprise but I knew I was gonna mop the floor with them.

My secret? Buy only things that were on SALE that I also had a coupon for.

Each item was already on sale in store AND I had a coupon.

There were 2 exceptions. Easter dinner necessities. Ham and wine. Neither were on sale but both were necessary purchases this week.

So when the cart was full I headed to the check out.

And this is what I spent...

Total ring before coupons but after in store sales $262.78

Total I paid  $100.71

Woo Hoo! Saved 62%

BUT... you have to take into account my two major purchases were the ham and wine and neither were on sale.

Remove them from the equation and I saved 70% !!!
(Wish I would have rung them separately anyway since they weren't on sale.)

That's right, I bought all this (minus ham and wine) for $77.00 dollars!!!!

You can see I got an amazing amount of food for $77.00! I'm pretty proud of this weeks trip. :) 70% off is nothing to scoff at! I gave a very minimal effort that saved me $160.00.

So do you coupon? How do you save at the store?

And you ask what I'm going to do with my $160 savings? Well I'm headed to the Simple Goods Show tomorrow with Mom! Hope to see you there!

Until next time...
