Best Saturday ~ Part II

 

Can you believe there’s more?  After Power washing the house, redecorating the porch and garden and cleaning the pond… I jumped in the shower and went ROLLER SKATING with another one of my childhood friends Tammy! Tammy and I have been best friends for 32 years. My mom and dad moved next to them when I was 2 and we have been inseparable ever since. Sunday was Tammy’s daughter Brooke’s 16th birthday so we went skating Saturday night in honor of it. We all love to skate. And it’s SUCH great exercise! We vowed to go more last night. lol!

The following are some REALLY bad pictures of some really good times. (Hard to take pics when your rolling! )

Took me a little while to get my skate legs back on but once I did… it was on. I was a Roller Queen! I am still a really good skater.

We skated from 7 to 10:30. I seriously could not believe I was still going. LOL!

But I wasn’t done yet!

Another bestie Jamie had just come back from Amish country with her fiancé Curt. They had went Friday night to celebrate her birthday with some shopping Saturday and she asked me to stop over on the way home from skating and have some oh so yummy Amish cheese and wine with them. How can I deny the birthday girl? There was no way I could say no! So after skating I headed to Jamie and Curt’s for a birthday celebration!

Here we are! Jamie, me and Curt. Had a great time! I love my friends! I am so blessed!

After spending the morning with Elizabeth, power washing the house, scrubbing the pond, redecorating the porch and garden, skating with Tammy and Brooke and then ending the evening laughing with Jamie and Curt… my head finally hit the pillow at 3am.

I didn’t move again until noon on Sunday. LOL! I couldn’t. My arms were still jello from the chores and my legs were still jello from the skating. And my back was killing me. But it was WORTH IT!

Mr. Primcat spent Saturday relaxing while I was in GO GO GO mode! And apparently his get’er’dun’ bug kicked in Sunday. He cleaned the garage… and I of course helped a little. But mostly I chilled on the couch all day. Well deserved I say.

So that was my weekend. I have nothing to complain about it was fantastic! I’m very content today.

What a great weekend!

Happy Sunday to all my blogging friends! I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend! I did! I have seriously had the best weekend I’ve had in such a long time.

Friday night one of my 3 childhood best friends (yes, I am blessed to have 3 childhood best friends in my life) came into town. Her name is Elizabeth and we have been besties since I was 7.

We have 27 years under our belts. She moved to Florida in 2000 but it didn’t change anything. We are still the best of friends. She came and spent the night with me and we had such fun.


Saturday morning was so nice because she was still here. And it was nice to have coffee and laughs before she headed out. I miss her already. Hopefully we will meet again soon. 

When she left I felt super motivated so I decided to go out into the beautiful day and get some much needed work done.

Last week my porch cabinet collapsed and made a heck of  a mess out there. The heat and humidity of this year just did it in. What to do… what to do?

Ok… time for some major renovations! EVERYTHING off the porch!

Now what. WOW. The porch is dirty. Get out the power washer. Oh geeze… now the porch is white and the rest of the house is still dirty. Power wash the rest of the front of the house. Oh my gosh… my arms are Jello! lol!

Ok. Now. To DECORATE! My favorite part! What do I have? what do I have? Lots… And here is what I ended up with.



Switcheroo! Moved the glider to the porch and the white iron set to the garden.



Love this is the Garden. Stands out so much better. I added a cat birdhouse the chair. A bunch of clay pots to the table. And a carrier full of garden tools to the other chair.

Back to the porch! Tada!



I repurposed the enamelware top to the cabinet that fell apart and set it atop the trunk. I added the copula with weathervane that I had picked up at a garage sale for 15 bucks years ago and started building off that. 3 old drawers stacked to the side. A large beam from an old barn that was down from our house … and last some accessories and 2 primcats. Of course. >^..^<




A rug and pillows… so cozy!



Now the house is clean and the porch is decorated… but the pond is a mess! Time to clean it!






The Clematis and lilacs really took off this year!







See those little trees in the garden below. They were tiny little 3” trees when I planted them in spring. They have done great and we are planting them in the yard soon. There are 14!





Hubbys 1972 Monte Carlo that his grandfather bought brand new. He inherited it when his grandfather passed way. He loves this car.

See all out baby trees!  And those boxwoods are new this year too. We removed a bunch of prickly barberries and replaced them with the boxwoods.OUCH!

So you would think after all that I would be completely done for the day… I did do all the by myself… but NOPE! I kept at it! That was just the first half of my best Saturday ever! I’ll be back to share more tomorrow!

Rolling Acres Goodies ~ Part 2

 

As promised my blogging buddies, I’m back to show you the wonderful treasures I purchased from from Angie and Rachel. Treasures from friends are always so much more special to me when I display them or gift them. And seeing as how I think Rachel and Angie are the nicest blogging friends a girl could ask for I’m honored to have their work in my home. :)

Are these not the cutest ever? I love them. I bought these as a gift… so I already told Rachel I need more because I have to have some for me too! LOL!

Mr. Bee found the perfect home next to a wonderful skeep in the entry way. I’m about to take summer down and start on fall but this little bee wanted to stay near the hive for a while!

   

More cute bowl fillers! Another gift. I actually bought these for me and then decided to gift them. SO again… I need more! LOL!

This adorable crow… yep… another gift… but I think I will need Angie to make me one for myself too cuz I love him! LOL!

 

The witch is MINE!!!! LOL! Do you not just adore her angry little brow? Angie sewed her a hairy wart too while I shopped!

LOVE HER! October needs to get here so she can come out!

 

How about a cute little sheep! Baaaaaah!

He landed here in the living room on the hearth. Front and center!

I see ewe! Oh wait… never mind… I don’t. I’m a prim sheep with no eyes! HA!

 

And lets not forget the primcat Angie gifted me. Supuuuurrrrr special! ;)
