Remember, it’s cold for your pets too!

Hi Friends,

It was a FREEZING 4 degrees here this morning!

Don’t forget to take care of your outside furries when it’s cold like this. They can easily suffer frostbite or freeze to death if you don’t provide them proper shelter.

Don’t forget about water either. It freezes quickly and will need changed many times per day.

You can also purchase heated water bowls.

Here is an easy build your own insulated cat shelter.

Quick, cheap and easy.

And don’t be afraid to buy them heated pet beds.

Please take care of them… they can’t fend for themselves when it’s this cold.

Until next time…

Great post Carmen! What really gets me fired up is those who intentionally allow their pets to suffer and leave them out to freeze to death, we need tougher laws!

I so agree. Laws need to be tougher. Some folks think that saving enough money to purchase a pet is all of their responsibility. Then just chunk her in the back yard and throw a few food scraps out. A pet is a responsibility that needs constant care and love, including proper shelter. Thank you, Carmen, for pointing this out.

Great post, my friend. I let my little doggies out only long enough to go potty...it is way too cold out there!

Hi Carmen ... Thanks so much for the post. It is hard to believe that some people do not take proper care of these wonderful loving animals. Our Kody (an Alaskan Malamute) has us up 2 and 3 times a night to go out and do his dooty. A doggy door would allow unwanted intruders entry and we do not want that. He is NOT left out doors as he is part of our family.

Peace and Blessings to all,
Barb

I agree!
Great idea with the cat house. That would work for rabbits too.
Thanks for the post.

Carmen,
I love the cat house idea....we bought an igloo house last year because we had a stray and I worried so about him. Needless to say a year later he has had is shots and I had him neutered last month. He uses his house on occasion, but now snuggles at my feet at night and stays in much more. Hobo is what we named him...he is truly a love. The other two are not so happy about him living with us though.

Amen! My kitties are like revolving doors, Especially Graylin and go in and out most of the day! You'd think they'd get the picture some day! Hard to get anything done for letting her in and out all day long when I'm home. She's getting spoiled rotten...Even letting her sleep in the bed with me to keep me warm these days...Hope you have a blessed Christmas with your critters, Love, laura r
