Broken Hearted…

Hi friends…

Tragedy struck over the holidays here…

I broke my Pfaltzgraff Folk Art Spoon Rest.

2012-12-26_14-37-55_538

This is no laughing matter. We use this piece every day of our lives. It’s at our coffee station and I knew I would miss it terribly. I actually cried a tear over this.

So since I had a bunch of other stuff that needed fixed… I tried gluing it. But alas the glue did not take. And so then I tried Gorilla Glue. And it didn’t stick either.

I am truly broken hearted over this. Sad smile

If anyone has one that they would be willing to part with please let me know. I’m watching on eBay but none have come up.

Until next time…

I'm so sorry, I would be upset too. I love my Folk Art collection and am so careful when I use it. I vowed this yr to add a few pieces to my collection. I just Googled them and one did come up on Ebay but it's the modern one w/ no long handle. ?? I'll keep looking. Have a good day.

Is there any way to use it as it is without a long handle?
how about grout? would that hold it together until you find another? Dianntha

Oh no, so sorry! My little grandson broke the lid to my old ceramic butter churn while he was here visiting, it was my mother-in-laws and the one thing of hers I had:( My own fault though, should have put it up and away from little hands:/

Oh Carmen I know just how you feel...we had company this summer and they dropped my Pfaltzgraff Folk Art salt shaker...I couldnt cry in front of her and of course I said for her not to worry about it (I realy didnt want her to feel bad) but I was holding back the tears !!!
Have you checked ebay ? I was looking for a few pieces just the other day and they had pages and pages of items...I didnt see the spoon rest, but then again, I wasnt looking for it. It's a piece I dont have yet !

Reading the comments it looks like someone has another one for you. As suggestion for the broken one, have you tried Aleenes Tacky glue? I use it for everything, including my ceramics and resin pieces. It takes a few mins. to set up but once it's dry it holds, nothing I've used it on has ever came apart.

I am so sorry about your spoon. I have a fix, it sounds odd but it works for all ceramics and pottery and it really holds tough. My mom uses canned milk, regular carnation canned milk. You paint it on the broken ends and stick it together. She has big bowls that she has fixed this way ans we still use them and wash them and they still hold even after 20 years. Give it a go and let me know how it works for you.

I get really cranky when things like that happen...my husband doesn't "get it" and thinks you can just go get another...not always the case. Glad to hear Tiff came through for you....Smiles & January Hugs ~ Robin

Noooo!!! I am sorry. I know how you feel. Sometimes things are just so special. I am surprised the glue didn't take. Good luck. -Steph-

Well that is horrible!!! It's not any fun when you have something that you absolutely love - even being a small thing!
We use 'silicone' when glues don't work...try that.
