Ever seen a jar like this?

Hi Friends,

So... check these out. Hubby was out on a nature walk out in the woods behind our house and came across this bottle in a pile in the woods.

Have you ever seen a jar like this?

One side says water...

And the other side says Juice.

And he also found this cool brown bottle too.

Ever seen either of these?

Just wondered where they came from and what they might be for?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am doing MUCH better. Friday was the first day I have felt really good... and man did it feel good to feel good! Wow. What an improvement. My bff Tammy came over and we walked 4 miles. Nothing amazing... Nothing fast... but we did it. :)That felt great.
I had been going to they YMCA diligently for a few weeks and feeling great when the appendicitis struck putting a huge damper on my new routine. Two weeks off at least they said. So I will be getting back to it next week for sure. I plan to lose 20 pounds by June 1st.  That's 5 months away and a pound a week. If I lose more... yay me! Hold me to it my peeps! I gotta get healthy again. I feel like hell.
I go back to work tomorrow. That is gonna be a bummer. The last day I worked was December 22nd so I have been off work for 17 days. Monday is going to be Yucky!!!!! LOL! Srangely enough... I am looking forward to going back to work as it gives me time to keep up with all my blog friends. I have been unable to keep up since I haven't been on the computer everyday and I feel so lost and behind! I shall make a resolution right now to catch up!
Until next time...
Carmen ... The green jar with water/juice on it I remember very well from when I was a little girl back in the 50s. They sold them at the grocery stores & they held prune juice. When you finished the prune juice you could then re-use the jar for water or other juice. My mother aways had one in the refrigerator with ice water in it. I remember aggravating her because I would just unscrew the lid & drink the water from the jar rather than pour it into a cup ... lol! Thanks for the memories : ) Blessings, Shirlee
Well that was cool learning that. I have the same green jar! I have had mine for about 8 years, got it from a flea market. I have flags and a few dried flowers in it from funerals. I liked it because it was different. I am glad you are feeling better and good luck on going back to work!
Have a great day.
Hi, Carmen. I'm so glad you are feeling better. I can't walk
4 miles now and I haven't had
surgery so you are doing great.
I've never seen either of those
bottles before. But they are
nice to have for a collection.
When Masterchief and I first moved to Kentucky we rented an old farmhouse where we would take long walks back by the creek. We found a few treasures but not like that brown jar. What a neat find!
What interesting bottles! There is an old foundation on our new property that needs digging around in. Just have to find the time. I did find a gorgeous big blue enamel pot in the barn yesterday - I was tickled pink (or should I say blue). I'll be posting a pic on my blog tomorrow.
Enjoy your Sunday Carmen - so glad you are feeling much better! Hugs and blessings
You be careful. Take everything slow and easy. Don't overdo.
The green bottle is indeed an old fruit juice bottle that was reusable for whatever you wanted, most often water. I have one. Really difficult to find the original lids. I collect colored glass for use in displays. I would love to find and amber canning jar. Great display piece. Hubby is a smart man!
Yes!!! I've seen green glass jars like that! My parents were always buying their prune juice in them. What a memory! There was always a green bottle in our refrigerator growing up and I think my mom still has one that she uses from time to time to store extra tomato juice or whatever in it! Glad you're feeling better!
Glad to hear that your are feeling better. As for the jars, I had one of the green jars and when we moved we had an auction and it brought $20.00
very collectible, lid or no lid. I am not sure about the brown one though.
People collect old glass jars and bottles because everything nowadays comes in plastic. Great finds.
Love the jars ~ they are awesome finds!!!
I know back in the day they buried a lot of their garbage and this included glass jars. When we dug holes for our deck post we found medicine jars and ink wells. Keep looking there might be more!!!
Hope you have a fast recovery and your back to your old self soon!!!
