Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my beautiful blog friends! I hope you all have the most wonderful beautiful day with your friends and family.

We are having an extra large Thanksgiving this year. So big we are having to move the dining room to the living room! We have never had to do that before!

The turkey breast is in the crock pot and the ham will be going into the electric roaster pan soon. We aren't really huge turkey fans around here. It's just to much work. If I can't cook it in a crock pot or roaster... I ain't cooking it. lol!

Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Broccoli and cheese casserole, Homemade Mac and cheese, Spinach casserole, Deviled eggs, Green beans, Corn, Cranberry sauce, rolls, and crescents. Nom!

For desert... pumpkin pie, pecan pie, chocolate pie, pumpkin roll and cheesecake!

I"m probably going to look like that cat up there when it's over!

Nom!

Nom!

Nom!

Happy Thanksgiving Friends!

Until next time...

Oh Twiggy tree…

Friends, I’d like to sing you a song… a song about Christmas pain and misery. A song I know so many of you can relate to…

Yesterday I spent 6.5 hours removing a single strand of tied on lights, straightening thousands of little pokey twiggy branches and relighting a German twig tree. It inspired the following song… written my me.

Sung to the tune of Oh Christmas tree…

Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
Your branches cause such misery.
Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
You poke and stab and make me bleed.
I’m wearing sleeves and rubber gloves,
My arms are scratched into little nubs.
Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
Your branches cause such misery.

Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
Such frustration you do bring me.
Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
Every twig must be just right.
The anger builds in me with light.
For crooked twigs won’t hide at night.
Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
Such frustration you do bring me.

What do you think? Oh I know anyone who’s ever put one of these German twig trees together and lit it knows that this song is so true. LOL! And it only took me 3 hours of 6.5 to write that. :) I sang it to Mr. Primcat when he got home. He was cracking up.

From this hot mess…

To two rows straightened and lit…

To finished!

Baby Bear took my spot as soon as I got up.

IMAG2505

Perched atop the biggest firkin I have ever seen. I bought the firkin at Goodwil for 7.99 ages ago and  Rachel at Somewhere in the Middle, so kindly made pretty for me with a redo so I could use it as a Christmas tree stand. My new Christmas nemesis, twiggy tree, sits atop it in the kitchen and ready to be decorated!

IMAG2508

I still have so much to do, especially after wasting an entire day straightening that tree! Gahhhhh!
So I better get back to it! Now go back up to the top… and turn on the music and sing with me won’t you…

Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
Your branches cause such misery.

Until next time…

Thrifty Thursday and a giveaway at Primitive Blessings

Thrifty Thursday is here... and that only means one thing in my book... tomorrow is Friday! YAY! I can't wait... I need some down time to put my house back together! It is a WRECK! Christmas stuff is everywhere. Yikes!

I am on staycation next week and I have so much to do! Saturday is cat food day so that is shot. Hopefully it will go perfectly this time and we will get 3 months done as usual. What is cat food day you ask? Well me make our cats food. We have done so since 2006 and have the healthiest cats ever. You can read more about it at www.catinfo.org

So Saturday is shot... and that leaves me 4 days to get the house decorated and everything ready for Thanksgiving dinner. It's going to be a crazy week!

On to the good stuff... My finds for the week. My faithful cat dog Tracy is always there to help me lend a picture taking hand. You guys must think she's the only cat. Not really... she just follows me around like a dog... so she's always right there when I'm taking pics.

So why did I buy an ugly gold wreath? Because Mr Primcat is mad crazy talented with a spray can and is going to paint these right up for me. :)  Bells are expensive... but good will wreaths for $2.00 are not. Takes a little time... but it's ok.

Are you Serious?

People do dumb things… I have proof!

IMAG2003

I saw this while I was coming back from the Dentist last week and I just had to take a picture.

IMAG1999

This is just dumb. And Dangerous! It’s hard to tell in the pics but the whole truck was about to tip over. I just got around them as fast as I could.

Just dumb.

There isn’t much else I can say about this… O.o

OLM Ornie Swap and more Primitive Blessings

Good Morning Friends!

It was another productive night at Primcats last night. Hubby helped me work on the Christmas tree display in in the living room. I am pretty impressed right now. It’s super prim… sorta drab… like nothing I have ever done before… but it looks really cool. I love it. And I can’t wait to share with you. But you are just going to have to wait as there is so much more to do and I don’t want to giveaway the best part first!

Speaking of Christmas… I joined my first ever blog ornie swap over at Marie’s blog http://primitivesbyoldeladymorgan.blogspot.com/

My box arrived yesterday and I could not be more thrilled. Wow! We have some seriously talented ladies out there!

Just look at all the prim goodness I received!

How about another room at Primitive Blessings… introduced by… KING! Pam’s baby and the shop mascot!

    IMAG2273

FYI… I am not really sure King is a dog. I’m pretty sure he’s a pony disguised as a dog. He’s HUGE! But adorable and lovable!

Happy Monday!

I have to be honest peeps… I really did not want to come back to work today. I wanted to stay home and work on decorating the house more. After such an amazingly productive weekend… who wouldn't? I got so much accomplished and got to be so creative… and now I’m back stuck behind a desk. Yuk!

I did however finally find time to catch up on emails all the way back to last Thursday. I was so busy at home this weekend that while I did jump online whenever I took a break… I just didn’t have time to reply to emails. And I never like to leave a comment hanging. ;) You know me. So it felt GOOD to reply back to everyone and clean up my inbox. :) I hope you all aren’t annoyed by the multiple replies in one day.

ok… so ya’ll remember this mess?

IMAG2350

Well, with Miss Tracy’s wise and authoritative supervision…

IMAG2363

(She’s a slave driver I tell ya. Just look at that “get it done Woman!” look she’s giving me. She almost looks like she’s putting her paw down! LOL!)

I managed to turn that huge mess of stuff… into this tiny pile of 4 totes and 5 trash bags of pumpkins. Not bad!

 IMAG2360

Thank goodness Tracy was there to keep me working.

By the end of last night I had fall gone and the living room tree up and decorated! Yay Christmas! :)
As promised… here are some more pictures of Pam’s shop and as before you can find the rest of the pictures of this room at her blog here:
