I hit the jackpot again this week. I’m pleased!


Lets have a look at this weeks Goodwill treasures.





A beautiful bird. Love it. I paid more for this than I usually would. $3.99. But I really liked it and it will serve through Spring, Summer and Fall decorating.





A delish Banana Bread candle in a great prim container. $1.00 Can’t beat that!


 



A great little pewter Bowl. $.50. Going to the
pewter shelf in the dining room.








Even though I collect Pfaltzgraff Village… this is for my bestie, Tammy, who also collects it. She gets first dibs on all found Village.   $3.99





A beautiful perfect gathering basket. $4.00. Seriously annoyed at the price but I did it anyway. It’s so cute. Thinking tulips!










THE most adorable little yoyo flower pillow! So frickin cute!





And I found some great textiles this week!

Any way this great runner is hand stitched. Beautiful piece. $7.00. Again… they are becoming ridiculous with their prices but I like this!





Kitchen wares… two great metal sets of measuring cups. $.50 per set. DEAL!

So the 120's still illude me... Hiss!!! I was really hoping I would drop back in by this weekend but no such luck!


It wasn't a bad week at all. I finished up my detox again and I have stayed right there at 130 so I can live with that. Just sticking to it... that's about it. Hoping soon I shall drop another pound. :)

Ideal Weight: 110-115
Starting Weight Jan 3, 2011: 145 Pounds
Last weeks weigh in: 131 pounds 7 ounces
Current weight: 130 pounds 13 ounces

Total lost so far: 14 pounds 3 ounces

New Spring Treasures…

I received a coupon in the mail for 5 off a 25 dollar purchase at The Olde Farmstead.

You know I had to go use that!

Here’s what I got!

A cute little chickie.





An adorable sheep.



Which found a home on the zoo shelf.



Another nest. Can’t have enough nests.



And a beloved bee. I’m REALLY going to BEE into bees and skeeps this summer!!!! This is all I have right now so I'm on the hunt!!!



It was a fun trip. If you are in Ohio and haven't been to The Olde Farmstead you are missing out! Make the trip!

Tea staining wooden wares…

Happy Monday!


After collecting a bunch of wooden wares I decided to finally pull my collection together. However, many of them were newer and whiter than I Iike. Time for a little aging with tea.

Gather your wooden wares in a container or two…





Brew some tea then pour tea over top and
submerge items.




Let set for however long you want, repeat as necessary for color you wish to achieve. Remove. Dry.

And display...





Remember that they are still usable because you stained them with tea, so you can grab one whenever you need for cooking.

This is also how you stain fabrics. :)

~ Don't be a no reply blogger ~



Don't be a no reply! :)

 Since I've posted this weekend some tips to help you (and me) make our blogs better I thought I would address separately about what so many commented yesterday to be their biggest pet peeve of all in blog-land... the no reply blogger.


What does that mean, you ask?


Well it means that if you comment me I can't email you back a response.


All comments from my blog (and likely your blog if you set it up that way) go to your email so you are notified that you have a new comment.


In my account, I open the email, read the comment and then almost always reply back to you with answers to your questions, my own comments, or just a thanks for stopping by.


However, if you are a no reply blogger that comment goes out into the Internet and never comes back. Actually it heads to an email address that reads mailto:noreply@blogger.com and you never get an answer from me.


I can understand new bloggers being leary about having their email address out there, but it's very simple to set up a dummy email for just your blog where you can be replied to. I did that in the beginning too, until I realized no one was actually going to hack my real email and steal my life. :) LOL!


I urge you to remove no reply from your account and  add an email address that you can be replyed to at. Even if that email address is created strictly for your blog. I want to be able to answer you back when you ask a question. :)


To remove no reply from your account and add an email address...


Go to your Dashboard.


Click Edit Profile on the Left hand side under your picture.


Click the box to Share my profile.


Click the box for Show my email address.


Scroll down and under the Identity area add the email address you would like to be replyed to at. If you don't want to use your regular email then create an account just for blogger.


Scroll down and click Save Profile.


That's it! Your done and you have made it easier for your blogging friends to keep in touch with you!

~ Update your blog lists ~ Helpful blogging tip ~

I always find new blogs I like by looking at the blogs on your blog list. I realized a while a go that that the blog list doesn’t automatically update when I start following a new blog. I have to go and update it every time I start following a new blog.


So to keep you blog list updated and help your friends find great blogs you follow do the following:

Go to your dashboard.

Click Design.

In your gadgets find your blog list and click to Edit open it.

A new window will open to configure blog list.

Click the Add to list button.

Select Blogs I’m following.

The newest blogs you have selected to follow will appear. These blogs are not currently showing in your blogs list on your Blog.

Select all and the check boxes will check.

Then click add and they will be added to your list.

Click Save and you will go back to your design page.

Click save again and you are done!


Now all of your followed blogs are showing on your Blog and I can find all the best blogs to follow!

An apology...

To all my blogging friends...


I just want to say I'm sorry that I haven't been able to keep up with every ones blogs lately. And I am sorry that I haven't been leaving the usual 100 comments per day that I am known to do. My watched blog list is so long it takes me 3 days just to catch up with one days worth of great posts from you all. :)


I am still reading and TRYING to keep up... but life has been a little more hectic than usual, and work has been a lot busier lately and unfortunately that means that my free time is cut and blogging, both writing and reading, slides to the bottom of the list.


Hopefully soon... life will calm down and I can get back to keeping up DAILY with every ones blogs instead of a weekly swing by without even commenting.


I just wanted you all to know that I haven't forgotten about you so don't think for a second that I have! :)

Picked up quite a bit of small wares at the Goodwills this week. I am pleased with my bounty. :)

A tea light Salt glazed pottery piece. $0.50.

A Punched tin lamp. $2.50
A Candle stick. $1.50

Five heavy metal stars. $3.50 for all.
And two wreath hangers. $0.50 each.
 

Not to shabby a week if I do say so myself!
