Cat food day at Primcats House

Chen-1

Good morning my fellow blog buddies! Woke up way to early today. 7:00 am on a Saturday. What the Hello?

It’s ok… gave me a little extra snuggle time with my bed kitty Gizzy. She’s my pillow. No really… I sleep on her. I have pics to prove it. But no time for that now!

Just wanted to jump on here real quick and say hello before we get started on the big cat food day project. What is cat food day you ask… well… it’s where we take 400 pounds of chicken quarters, 40 pounds of chicken hearts, 40 pounds of chicken livers, supplements and grind them into 4 months worth of Raw Cat food. Sounds yummy right? Nope. Not yummy at all to us… but it’s like steak and lobster around here everyday for the kitties.

There is a whole long story about how we ended up feeding raw and it involves almost losing 3 of our cats to Bladder, stones, kidney stones, and urinary tract infections but I’m not going to bore you with all that.

The point is… we started raw feeding in 2006 and it was the BEST decision I ever made for our babies. They are the healthiest cats you will ever meet and a wonderful example of how raw feeding can make a complete turn around in the health of your animals. My vet calls Primcats house a case study in raw feeding because we have 14 cats on this diet and he has watched first hand how it changed the health of our cats.

Not only is it good for them… it’s cheaper than feeding manufactured food. It costs me $.23 cents per day to feed a cat. That’s it. And when you have 14 mouths to feed there is no cheaper way to go.
I know that raw feeding is not for everyone. I don’t expect everyone to raw feed… but what I DO ask is that you take 20 minutes of your life to go read this website so at least you have the knowledge that every pet owner should have.

Now… I’m off to grind chicken…

Until next time…

Great site, thanks for sharing. I've been reading it and totally agree. I'm going to see if I can talk hubby into switching. I hate buying dry pet food, I know it's bad for them, I've known for years, but never knew what to do about it.

I truly do commend you, Cat Lady and Honorable Queen of Cats....I so agree - a much healthier alternative....but....eeekkk....grinding all that gross raw chicken stuff... :o Ya know....chickens are distant relatives to crows..... ;o) Hope you had a productive day at the "grind mill."
