August already? Lets catch up!

Wowsa… Long time no see again! Summer has been insanely busy. In a good way of course. :)

I am sure I have lots to talk about after being away so long but I don’t want to pile it all into one post… So I’ll just back up to vacation.

Back in June we went camping for a week to Maggie Valley, North Carolina. Isn’t it just beautiful? We just love it there.

We took the bike and camper again. Here’s the rig ready to hit the road! It’s a long ride, 9 hours one way with stops… but so worth the ride. :)

I didn’t get any pics of our campsite set up but for those who are interested… that little trailer turns into this…

It even has a queen size bed and air conditioning. :)

I love our little camper. :) So much fun to take trips.

We rode the dragon again this year.   318 curves in 11 miles! Always fun!

Hubby being a supermodel. Isn’t he handsome!

You know I found a kitty while I was there. ;) This is Ali. She’s a camper kitty and super sweet. We were walking down the road and out of the corner of my eye I spotted her. I always miss my kitties sooooooo much when we are gone. It’s nice to find a furry to pet to ease the missing. Ali fit the bill and I went back to see her everyday after we met her to give her some pets. She lives with her Dad at the campground. She’s a very loved kitty.

A shot from when we were riding in the mountains… what I wouldn’t give to wake up to this view everyday. Maybe someday… I hope.

A cool surprise. A HUGE elk. He’s the dominate male and about as big as a minivan! Very cool!

Bye Mr. Elk! Be safe!

Our Duckie friends. They visit everyday.

This is the back of our campsite. Could you ask for anything better? I don’t think so.

I spent every other day sitting here reading a book. On the other days we went exploring on the Harley.
I also found a prim ship called the Old Brick House in Waynesville. I bought a few cute things from there that I’ll post about later.

Over all it was a GREAT camping vacation!

Until next time…

Carmen, I just love Maggie Valley. Have been going there since I was in grammer school. It's about 6 hrs from here and we usually visit smokey mts. and go to maggie vally a couple times a year. Love the scenery and such a neat camper. We have always talked about how great it would be to ride those crooked roads on a motorcycle. A great way to feel surrounded by nature. Thanks for sharing.

what a truly beautiful place to camp! We too are campers, unfortunately on our camping trip this year the weather here in the UK was not kind at all, we had really heavy rain for a day and then drizzle for the remainder. I would surely love to take my family camping to the very spot your spent your vacation.

Nice to see you back in blogland!

oh, memories. I live in Conover North Carolina. When I was little, my parents took me to Maggie Valley every year for my birthday. We would go to Ghost Town and spend the day on Sunday. It was always so much fun.

Lynn

Carmen it sounds as if you have ridden the Dragon before. It is beautiful, but someone is killed on it every week. It is extremely dangerous. Glad you were safe. Met a wolf on it a couple of times it was just standing on a boulder!

Wow, now that's a beautiful spot to camp. Aww, the cute critters to keep you from being homesick. Adorable;-) That's one neat setup there. All that came outta that little wagon? Impressive! I'm happy for you and yer "model" hubby having an excellent time, and glad you didn't encounter any bears! LOL. Hugs~Carol

Well, I sure missed you! And I miss your Mom, too. She only comes home once in a while. You've both been missed!
Hey---he is really cute! I can see why you'd rather spend time with him than this bunch of old crows! I would not be shocked to be dumped full time for a cutey like that!
Looks like a great place to visit. Never been to the Carolinas. Somehow we missed that when we were out and about. Have always wanted to go travel the eastern seaboard and catch some of those islands. Not a lot of that here in the Midwest!!!!
Don't be a stranger! Glad to hear from you!!!

Hi Carmen! I wondered what happened to you.
What a blast of a trip! Nice bike and that camper is so cool! I had no idea they were that big! We want to try the Dragon sometime.
As soon as I get up enough nerve. Did it bother you at all? what kind of weather did you have?
And the cat is so so sweet! can't wait to see more pictures...you got some wonderful shots!
