Simple crown molding…

Just wanted to share with you what a little crown molding can do for a room. And how simple and cheap it really is to put it up.

We used plain 1’ x 3” pine boards and just square cut them. No mitering. Same as we did the chair rail. It’s crazy what a difference it makes in the room. We will definitely be adding more throughout the house.

Here are some before and after’s…

Before:

Also notice the old light in this one.

If you are looking for an easy inexpensive way to add detail this is a great way to do it.

Wow, Carmen that looks great. I want to do crowm molding in a couple rooms and this looks so easy!!! I know we could do this! And since our home is not so formal this would go with my style more than the formal stuff would. Thanks for sharing!!!

Such a difference that made in your room Carmen. I love it! We did rough cut cedar in our spare bathroom with the square corner cuts and it looks very nice. I think you have now made me want to put up a chair rail in my living room. Won't my hubby be thrilled at the new idea. If you hear your phone ring in the next few minutes don't answer it. I'm sure its him calling you to tell you not to post anymore projects for him to have to do!!
Hugs and best wishes for a prosperous New Year,
AMY

Beautiful! The crown molding just pulls it all together. I use pine boards & paint them like you & you are so right. Looks good & cheap. You got a wonderful tool box for Christmas. A girl needs a place to keep her tools. The arrow hangers you got are a wonderful buy. I collect them & you will enjoy them for all seasons. Blessings!
