Easy and Cheap Christmas Tree decoration ideas…

With the holidays fast approaching and our pockets always less than full of extra money I thought I would share some inexpensive Christmas tree decoration ideas that I have used when strapped for cash with a bare tree!

Tree

1. Wrap inexpensive cloths pins in fabric, twine or raffia.

2. Tie pretty bows in your favorite homespun's and attach to the branches of your tree.

3. Make rag balls from homespun and hang like ornaments.

4. Grab a 6’ length of twine and tie 2” bits of homespun every 4-6” along the length. Now you have a rag garland!

5. Go outside and borrow from nature. Pinecones and long stemmed spent flowers look great tucked into your tree and throughout your home. Free!

6. Slice and dry apples and oranges for your tree!

7. Cookie cutters make adorable ornaments and are readily available at thrift stores.

8. Grab a bag of cinnamon sticks at your local craft store and tie them up with homespun in bundles of three then hang!  Cheap!

9. Empty thread spools and wood bobbins are a fun touch. Wrap them with twine, raffia or homespun and hang! Or just leave the, empty.

10. Popcorn garland! Easy to make! Cuddle up for a movie and string yourself some!

11. Pick up a bag of bells at your local craft store. Paint them if you don’t like the color and hang them on your tree!

How’s that for very inexpensive ideas for decorating your tree? Now lets get to decorating!

Until next time…

You are so right. I gathered & dried flowers & berry pods weeks ago to decorate my tree this year. I use pinecones that I have had for 20 yrs to. All this stuff was free. But now I am not sure I have the heart to unbundle all the drieds to put on the tree. I really like them haning from my peg board. I will see. Your veggie soup looks so yummy. Blessings!
