Fabulous Finds Friday...

Since I'm such a thrifer I'm had to add an extra finds day!

Another great Goodwill find that is waiting for a home.

This Tin Lamp chandelier was only $5.00!!

I have big plans for this. When I someday get around to collecting all the pieces of furniture I need to rearrange my odd walled living room... I plan to hang this baby right above the game table! I'll Probably wire it with a working lamp inside but you won't really be able to see it because it will be up inside. Amazing deal!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thrift Store Thursday Part 2

I know you can't take any more.... but I have more!

This adorable little breadboard also doubles as a lazy susan. I intend to make it into the base of a shoofly gathering I'm working on! It will look adorable with the screen on top and some pantry cakes inside. It was only $3.00

$ 3.00 A cute little shaker box! This will be changing colors and I might even make a little stool out of it. There is a picture of one exactly like it in the Rolling Acres Craft show pics! It's red with legs. Go see if you can spot it! It's adorable.

I love this little spinner. It was $3.00 and the old blue masons were $1.00 each. I keep going back and forth... should I paint it should I not. I can't decide... so there it sits. I think I'll bring it out this week to the kitchen table and fill some jars with some kitchen goodies. See if it speaks to me.

A HUGE cranberry scoop! 4.00 Love it! If I don't keep this... my mom will be all over it for her shop! It's really BIG!
A set of curtains. 1.99x4 Two long side panels and two valances! I think these might look good tea stained in the dining room with my new Pfaltzgraff Folk Art collection. :o)
A cute little Autumn wreath. $2.00 Needs some serious straightening... but it's headed to the front door for fall!
The cutest little Primitive Bird in a gourd you have ever seen! $ .50

$1.00 ea These are for Christmas. I love homespum christmas stuff!
Ooooooo! This one is GOOD! $3.00 It Says Mahon Pottery. I don't think it's worth anything... but I sure do love it! It found a home in the entry way already.

Two cute little gingerbread thingies. 1.00 each Probably turn these in christmas somethings.
$2.00 This is a gift for my Step mom. She collects this pottery so I nabbed this for her.
A great little compote. $3.00 Definetly gonna prim this one up in black. It's big and bold and will look adorable with seasonal ornies and tucks in it.

$.50 each Just some cute little tin stars!

Ok friends... that's all from last week! I already have a new pile from this week so keep an eye out next week for my fun finds!

Until next time... Carmen

Thrift Store Thursday Part 1

As I have already confessed I'm a thrift-a-holic... and now you are going to see just how much I wasn't kidding. :o)

Below are last weeks goodies...

Found this all in one day. Jackpot Tuesday!

Below... the jar, the cat and the wood citrus thingie were all $0.50 each. I think I'll try grunging the jar with modgepodge and spices. I'll probably paint the little kitty and make her into a bowl filler. I'll stain the wood with coffee stain to make it look old and used.

The Basket was $1.00 and it is really cute. The handles are ceremic. I'll prob coffee stain this so it's not so bright. It's really a nice table piece in my Americana-ish Living room.

Rug Beater... $0.50 Very good find. Not sure what will happen with this piece. I really don't do hearts but I couldn't pass it up at 50 cents!

I thought this would be adorable with some fall stuff in it in the front entry. Maybe some leaves and small pumpkins or gourds. It was $1.00. It may stay white... or it may get stained.

This Live, Laugh, Love Shelf was the bargin price of $ 2.50. If I can knock the shine off this with some fine grit sand paper I *might* keep it and put it in or master bath. Or I could prim it with black and use it in the laundry room. If not... it's definetly something my mom can use in her shop.

This adorable little box is perfect as is for $1.00! Already primmed and distressed!

The coffee grinder was 1.50 and I probably won't keep this. My mom will be happy to have it for her primitive shop though! It will look adorable in a kitchen gathering once she prims it!

Prim Sunflower Towels $0.99 each. Went straight into my laundry room. :o)

$2.00... not really something I would usually pick up because of the heart... but it was sooooooo darn cute! I think the checkerboard pattern overode the heart patter. I really like it. Don't have a place for it... but I like it.

Hook board $1.50. This is going into the laundry room, maybe a is... maybe painted black. Haven't decided. It's really sturdy though and will do well to keep my swiffers off the ground.

2.00 Each. I'm a HUGE cat art collector in all forms. I already had one of these... but I couldn't pass it up!
$.50 and 3.00 I have no idea why one is so mych more than the other. They look the darn same to me! I don't know if I'll keep these ot not. I don't do hearts... but my aunt loves the heart rug beaters so she might end up with these.
3.00 Awwww.... rusty little piggie pie rug beater! He's staying!

$.50 each Gonna take the plastic out of these for sure and then stuff them into a crock in the kitchen.

Ok... that's some of my goodies! Come back this afternoon for part 2!!!

*hanging head in shame that there is a part 2*

;o)

Until later... Carmen

Whatcha’ workin’ on Wednesday?

Ahhh… one of my favorite days in blogland! I just love catching up on what everyone has been making… or remaking! I just have to join in the fun… This is a before of what I’m working on right now.

It’s a solid wood buffet that I bought at the Goodwill for $59.99 a few weeks ago. A real steal! The only thing is… it has about 20 coats of paint on it and the paint is beat to heck! Not to mention its grey and red right now. Not very pretty! It's getting stripped and redone in black!

Stay tuned for the after, hopefully coming soon!

Just to make you smile!

I know, I know... this is Primcats House and if the kitties knew I was posting this they would stage a riot but...

This picture makes me laugh everytime I look at it!
This is one of my dad's dogs, Batman.
He's half Chihuahua half Dachshund.
Also known as a chiweenie.
And he's just the cutest thing on the planet!

And yes... his ears really are that big!

He always makes me think of Happy the Baby New Year! Ever seen that classic?

And here is Batman with his brother Lugar, a sheltie.

Have a great day!

Oh MY! OH MY! OH MY WORD!!!!

Lookie lookie what I found at the GW today! Please ignore my dirty car in the background but I couldn't wait to share!

I paid... $12.50 for BOTH pieces! And both are in perfect condition!!! What a deal!

Can you believe it?!?!

With everyone showing thier beautiful collections of Pfaltzgraff Folk Art I had decided to collect it. I see it all the time at the GW but I have just never picked it up because over the years it's never really gone with whatever decor' I've had.

My current collections are Pfaltzgraff Naturewood, which I've been collecting for over 10 years, and Pfaltzgraff Grapevine which I've been collecting for 8 years. I also have a set of Pfaltzgraff Merlot that we use as our everyday dishes. But I have been desperatly drooling over everyones Folk Art and when I saw Andy's beautiful displays of her collection I could hold out no more! I decided that I would go ahead and get it the next time I saw it. I think that was a few weeks ago. Since then I have seen 3 sets of Yorktown pop up at the GW... but no Folk Art. (If anyone wants the Yorktown let me know... I'd be happy to pick them up if someone collects them.)

But today... when I hit the GW's at lunch and I walked around the corner and saw these two pieces I about squealed in happiness. It seriously took everything I had to not freak out and jump up and down in the store! LOL!

I'm not sure if these are suposed to be together as a set or not. Anyone know?

The first is a Large 3 QT Bowl.

The second is a 2.5 Qt. Pitcher.

I could not have asked for a better way to start my Folk Art collection!!!!

Woohoo!!!!!!!!! Happy Day!!!!

PS... I got a bunch of other stuff too! It was a GREAT GW day... but those will have to wait until next week. Look for last weeks GW finds comming this Thursday!
